Steel Cheese pipes:

Steel Pipes offer a cost-effective solution for the user in lieu of Aluminium and are available in a wide variety of material grades as well as diameters and thicknesses as listed below:

a) Low Cost solution for use on Conventional Flat looms having lower speeds and generally HDPE production, where distortion load on tubes is low.

b) for Medium speeds and / or PP processing encountering higher loads where frequent distortion of tubes needs to be avoided.

c) High Tensile Pipes: To take away the need for frequent maintenance of damage to cheese pipes. Tubes of superior material of higher strength are used for making these pipes. Added advantage from use of higher grade is these are made from lighter sections thus reducing individual pipe weight, reduced load on the winders and looms and saving in operating costs.

Range of Sizes:

Most Popular Cheese Pipes are in 35 mm Internal Dia. Other common sizes are 32 mm ID and 37 mm ID. However tubes from 20 mm to 98 mm dia. have been supplied by us to the industry. Special sizes can also be developed to suit individual needs. Similarly, while common tube thickness used for Standard ERW Tubes and, Cold Drawn Pipes is 1.5 mm or 2 mm, High Tensile Pipes are generally made in 1 mm or 1.1 mm thickness to suit most applications.

Protection and Finish:

Steel pipes can be supplied plain – i.e. without any treatment, or Zinc Plated or Powder coated for sake of protection as well as individual identification to segregate different deniers / grades of tape during storage. However, by-far the most common reason for coating the cheese pipes is to provide a uniform reflection co-efficient for colour detectors at the loom. Black is generally the preferred colour for this purpose. Other colours can also be imparted on demand. Aluminium Pipes are supplied plain or Anodized as per customer needs. Aluminium Tubes can also be supplied with Flutes to accommodate reflective tapes – see illustration.
Punching of Holes / Notching:

Some winders /looms need pipes to have notches for fixing the tubes while others require holes for light sensitive reflectors to be placed inside the tubes. Such features can be provided wherever ordered.

Standard packing consists of durable HDPE sacks of 100 or 150 nos each. However, other types of packing in Paper Carton are also available if required for export or transit over long distances.
